WE ARE BACK – MR Blues Weekend Tips

Its been a long, long, long, long pre-season in which I almost resorted to watching women’s football to get my fix. Don’t worry I didn’t, I’m not insane. Luckily, the England friendlies and youth team tournaments kept me entertained through those rough periods. Now it may sound cliché to say new season new me, but for once and I hope your all sitting down for this, but Mr Blue, your loveable alcoholic tipster, is fucking SOBER.

That’s right SOBER.

Here’s hoping the clear head and fresh air will help start the season off with a bang.

Onto the tips:

I’ll start by adding my first season long bet.

Fourfold: 336/1

Fulham, Oxford, Lincoln & Hartlepool to get promoted.

Fulham – If you’re a fan of Championship football, then you’ll already know Fulham were the best footballing side in the league last year, who have managed to keep their star players and look to push on this year. They did struggle for goals last year mind, with Martin their top scorer with 10. Hopefully after Sessengon performances for England in the summer, they’ll look to push him further forward, which could see an increased goal threat.

Oxford – Many probably wont have followed Oxford this summer, but they’ve made great additions to an already strong side. Already this summer, they’ve added, Obika & James Henry to the side, experienced League 1 players. Also added is ex Swansea defender Tiendalli and a Brazilian left back, who played Champions League football in recent years. Add Mike Williamson to the defence and you have a strong side ready for a title push.

Lincoln – Everyone remembers Lincoln from last season, for their memorable FA Cup run. They now find themselves back in the football league and will be looking to build on last years momentum. A side who’s added great depth to an already strong side, they’ll be a tough side to stop. I’ve always said, there’s not much difference between the Conference & League Two in terms of quality & its not surprising their already on of the league favorites.

Hartlepool – A tip I think Sir Jeff will agree with, I can see Hartlepool making an instant return to league football. They’ve added some real quality to a young squad, who blossomed in the closing stages last season. The likes of Ryan Donaldson, who has the quality to win any football match, will be key this season. Their top scorer from the previous season, scored over 30 goals two years ago in the Conference and I’d put money on the Irishman, Amond to do it again.

Now for today’s action:

Single: 11/10

Treble: 8.5/1

Oxford, Mansfield & Bradford

Fourfold: 21/1

Scunthorpe, Luton, Hartlepool & Portsmouth

Fourfold: 9.66/1

Hartlepool, Tranmere, Luton & Fulham

£1 Punt – Combine all the above sides except Fulham for a 190/1 eightfold.

Good luck to those who follow, please fill free to ask questions in the comments and add your own tips.
