Mr. Red Weekend Tips

Now I know a lot of you will be cursing this international break as it means a break in the Premier League season. I am also cursing it – instead of sitting in the sun off the coast of Malta with fellow England fans on my 4th beer I’m sitting at work writing these tips from my desk during my lunch break. Unfortunately Malta was one trip too far for the Mr Blue and myself – thankfully Lithuania is only 2 months away.

Onto Saturday’s tips and the lack of action in the Prem and Championship, combined with tricky looking cards in leagues 1 and 2, mean I have travelled all way down the football pyramid to the National North and South leagues for some value.

Double

Iceland, Aldershot – 2/1

As I mentioned previously in my world cup preview Iceland look to be the best bet of the international fixtures. They travel to a Finland side who only have 1 point to their name all campaign. Aldershot are at home to Solihull as 5th plays 23rd at this early stage of the season. The Shots have had a little wobble of late, but holding on for a 0-0 draw away to Eastleigh last time out suggests they are back in form.

4-fold

Blackpool, Oxford +1, Stevenage +1, Leyton Orient – 7/1

Blackpool host AFC Wimbledon on the back of 2 straight home wins. The Dons meanwhile have only a single point from their 2 away matches so far. Oxford and Stevenage have both made solid starts and shouldn’t lose on away trips to MK Dons and Cheltenham respectively. Leyton Orient sit 3rd and welcome 22nd placed Guiseley to Brisbane Road. Orient have 2 wins a draw at home, while Guiseley have yet to score on their travels.

Non-league 6-fold

Aldershot, Leyton Orient, FC United of Manchester, Spennymoor Town, East Thurrock, Chelmsford – 14/1

In the National League North, FC United of Manchester host basement boys Leamington – a side who have lost their last 6 fixtures in all comps. Spennymoor sit 5th and have picked up 2 points per game thus far. They welcome Gainsborough who sit 19th and have 6 points from 7 fixtures so far. Down in the National League South, leaders Chelmsford host Bognor (10th) and East Thurrock host Wealdstone. Thurrock sit 3rd with 17 points from 7 matches, compared to Wealdstone who sit 20th with 6 points. East Thurrock are priced at 21/20 and with the table as it is these odds look incredibly generous.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Treble

Bradford v Bristol Rovers, Carlisle v Mansfield, Torquay v Chester – 3/1

6-fold

Doncaster v Peterborough, Walsall v Plymouth, Port Vale v Notts County, Wycombe v Forest Green, Barrow v Boreham Wood, Halifax v Flyde – 19/1

Win+BTTS Longshot

Aldershot, Leyton Orient, Wycombe, Scunthorpe – 150/1

As always good luck with any bets you place and let us know your thoughts below.
